#76 - The Plan

This comic is payback for the whole "this comic is too vague! this comic is too obvious!" situation. I hope this pun made you cry. (not really, you guys are alright).

This comic is super late and probably super badly coloured because just before I started inking, Flash decided to stop working for me, so I had to move my stuff over to photoshop. :(

  1. I had to read it 5 times to get the pun, and my god, facepalm ensued.

    Another good one.

  6. Epic facepalm... I groaned.

But neat pun, kind of nicely subtle.

  7. aha. took me a long time to get it, but it was by far one of the best so far. :']

  8. Wow, I read that at least 10 times before I got it. Then I groaned. Your mission was a great success.

  13. I love how it took me longer to get this than it took me to get the bucket one... Although, I guess that's just my dirty mind :P

  14. Guess I will skip this one...

  15. betrayal = bee trail for those who don't get it

    ReplyDelete
  16. For those of you who don't get it say bee trail and betrayal to yourself until you get it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ahaaaa! Got it, that was a moderately good call

    ReplyDelete
  18. I guess it depends on how you normally pronounce the word "betrayal".

  19. So THAT'S where all my children went! I feel avenged! :(

  20. Had to read it out loud to get it. Now I'm crying

  21. I can imagine worse betrayls. Like ones where the bee's fly off, randomly.

Anyway; AMAZING PUN! GREAT COMIC! Thanks for posting it! <3

PS- I miss the tears :'(

  22. Quite creative buildup to this pun

  23. Also, the guard made a BEEline for their position.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Heh... I thought the guard was making a bee-line. Thanks for revealing the actual pun to me annon ;)

  25. Yeah, I was thinking bee-line too.

  26. Unacceptable Behavior on Gary's part if you ask me!

  27. Facepalmed myself for not getting it earlier. Nice job with two pubs in one comic!

  28. I just found this blog today, and I have to say...

It is awesome. It took me a while to get it, but it is very "groan-worthy."

And just because I like to impress people with meaningless stories, someone once told me that they were "The ruler of the universe." and I replied: "Are you sure you can measure up to the expectations?"

...anyway, I'm checking out more of these! >:D

  29. I'm tempted to say that this comic bugs me, but I cannot, I think this is my new favourite.

  30. It's Tuesday and I want my comic!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. No. You're going to have to get used to your comics being late.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ITS WEDNESDAY I WANT MY COMIC!!!!!!!!

  33. Mr. Octopuns: here's an idea. Do one and plan the other work on it each day so it is ready by the deadlines that YOU set. Save yourself from a ravenous, pun hungry monster that will devour you next time your puns are late. I love octopuns!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's an excellent idea in theory, but does not work for me in practice.

The problem is that I've spent the last nineteen years doing things right before the deadline and as hard as I may try, that'll never change. I've also noticed that I do my best work if I'm rushing to get something done. The comics with the most positive feedback are comics I came up with and created at the last minute. Starting things early scares me.

I have two choices. I either set no deadlines and never have an incentive to update, or set deadlines and miss them sometimes.

Though, with that in mind, I will make a conscious effort to update on time (and perhaps one day have a buffer) because I know it must be pretty annoying to my few fans. So, thanks guys. Please bear with me. :(

(Also, right. I forgot to update the comic with the notice that Octopuns is having a break for a short while, so, that is why it is Wednesday and you still have no comic).

  35. This was before Gary was a driver.

  36. Thanks for this latest one. It took me a while, but it was worth it :)

  37. This was amazing oh my gah

    ReplyDelete
  38. I didn't get that one the first time around. I thought he left some bees for the gaurd then made a b-line back to his friends so they could sneak inside. But I guess my mind works in it's own groan inducing ways

  39. Just found out about Octopuns and read them al in one go. Now I'm left with a craving for more...

  45. That took me a couple of readings to get... followed by a groan when the penny finally dropped. Good work :)

  46. That last panel had me in stitches. I still enjoy revisiting this one fondly.

  47. took me twice through to get it and thats so good =D

    ReplyDelete
  48. I guess you could say he made a beeline for the bushes.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Somehow I got this first time haha. Bee trail.

  50. BEE-TRAIL!!!!!!!!
    Good one................. :)

  52. ok so i got this after a second, but before then i was already lolling pretty hard at the guy saying "you're off the team" and then the guard picking up a trail of bees like he's james woods.
